IOM - Alioth V4

Build kits for an Alioth V4 IOM hull. Available in two options:

The Full Hull Build Kit includes all of the parts and adhesives necessary to build a complete hull, except the bow bumper which should be selected and ordered separately.

The Hull Parts Only version includes all of the printed parts, but will require you to source all of the fittings and adhesives to complete the hull.

Select the desired hull color from the listed options. Internal components and details can be printed in PLA of any color. Use the text box to customize as desired. Available colors can be viewed here. If no color is specified these parts will be printed in the same color as the hull.

About the Alioth

The Alioth is widely recognized as the first truly competitive IOM yacht specifically designed for 3D printing. Designed in Spain and first launched in 2020, the latest V4 version was launched in March 2025. With over 450 boats sailing in over 30 countries, the Alioth is a proven concept. A Spanish National Championship title (2025), European 9th place (2023) and multiple national, regional and world champtionship appearances clearly show the Alioth has proven that self-built boats are viable and can be highly competitive.

As a pioneer in hull designs for 3D printing, Juan Marcos Egea has created a fast and light hull that is printed in vase mode in a single wall. This unique printing characteristic with no joints gives the hull incredible strength, but limits the ability to incorporate internals into the print. This results in a build that requires more internal components to be assembled, making the Alioth a slightly more complex build than the Proteus, but equally achievable by novice builders.

Our complete build kits and step by step guides make building a competitive boat achievable even to the novice builder. Total build time should be around one week with a few hours per night, or two full weekends. Check out our detailed build guide for more details.
