Keel Fin for IOM
High quality competition fin for IOM boats.
Designed for the Alioth by Juan Marcos Egea using computational fluid dynamics simulations to optimize the hydrodynamic profile. Performs equally well when fitted on a Proteus hull with the accompanying fin box insert.
The fin is produced in high quality carbon fibre and epoxy by Juan Marco's expert team and finished to perfection. A well balanced and rigid fin, with minimal flex and torsion.
Supplied with a fin box insert to match the Alioth v3 and v4 hulls or the Proteus 1.2 and 1.6 hulls. Ideally, the fin box insert should be glued to the hull before final sanding and finishing. An unglued insert may transfer excessive load to the fin box, leading to hull failure. Fin box inserts for other IOM models may also be developed to use this fin with other boats.
