Ballast Bulb for IOM

Competition ballast bulb designed to match the accompanying fin and balanced for the Alioth hull. Will also fit and perform exceptionally well on the Proteus. When matched to the accompanying fin, final weight will land very close to the target 2500g.

Profile is optimised for performance, slightly flattened to bring down the center of gravity while remaining within keel regulation maximum draught. Flat tail design to minimize vortex and drag. 

Bulb can be supplied in raw cast state or fully finished in glossy black and varnish. When supplied in cast state, includes the plastic fitting shaped for the Alioth keel. Fittings for other models can be constructed to adapt the bulb to fins of different profiles.

Both versions include the SAILSetc ballast seat INS-SEAT cast into the bulb for easy fixing. When paired with a fin with an M3 bolt, use SAILSetc ballast nut SP-BN-M3 (included with our fins) to fix the fin to the ballast bulb.
